Western National Insurance Auto Rate Revision for Minnesota – Effective January 22, 2025
Western National has recently completed a review of our Personal Auto line of business. Effective January 22, 2025, for new and renewal business, auto rates will increase in our Penalty-Free, Select Auto, and Signature Auto programs.
The overall rate increase will be 12.5%, but the exact rate change will depend upon the program and the specific characteristics of the insured exposure. As an example, longer tenured policyholders could experience less of an increase than those who have been with their carrier less than three years. Policyholders can reduce their premium by increasing deductibles or making other adjustments. As an example, premium for physical damage coverage can be reduced by as much as 12% by changing $500 deductibles to $1,000 deductibles.
Please note that renewals will now be sent out 65 days in advance to comply with new legislation requiring 60-day notice for renewals starting in 2025.
As a reminder, Western National has made quoting Penalty-Free policies in the Select Auto and Signature Auto programs easy by starting quotes for every renewal using existing policy information to minimize the additional entry needed for an application.
